• I’m in the works of converting a Joomla site that uses Community Builder to WordPress and am looking for a plugin that can import the CSV records. However, before I embark on this adventure, I need to know the best method of guaranteeing that the records being imported on the WP site with this plugin will retain all data.

    1) I’m under the impression that I’m going to need to create all fields using this plugin to match the fields from the Community Builder extension. Is the best method to review how the tables and fields are built via phpmyadmin before creating the fields with this plugin?

    2) Will this plugin alone allow for the following fields, or am I going to have to purchase the “Participants Database User Profile” an addon:
    1. Role
    2. Name, Address, Phone Email
    3. Username, Password

    Awaiting your reply.

Typically, the best way to transfer data in bulk from another site or application is to use a spreadsheet application to prepare the data. For example, this gives you a way to place the data in columns with the correct names to be imported into Participants Database. I’ve posted an article on the subject here:

Migrating an Existing Database into Participants Database

The plugin allows you to create any fields you want, there is no need to purchase an add-on for that. However, if you want to integrate the plugin data with a logged-in user’s profile, you’ll need an extension for that:

Thank you for the recommendation. I’ll look into that.
