CSS will not work. Stay theme.

    I have recently set up a website that is displaying perfectly in Chrome, however does not display properly in IE and Firefox.

    I have tried altering the CSS in inspect element and the clear: both function displays the website exactly how I want it, however when I alter the actual CSS file in WordPress and/or Filezilla, it doesn’t work. It’s as if I never put it there. I’m sure this is a quick, easy fix but I’m completely stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated.
