CSS to make images look good on white background

Hello everyone, I’m struggling to make pictures (sreenshoots) look good on my website. The background color of the site is white and every pictures I put up looks out of place. I have tried putting some css elements (box shadows) to make the images look better but the edges of images still looks bad.

Any advice on how to make images look good on white background? How does apple make their images look so good on white background https://www.apple.com/mac/?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
