In “Homepage like quarktheme.com” you explained how you created the home page look…

“I used Advanced Custom Fields to create some extra meta boxes for my posts that allowed me to select the background colours/image. I then modified my templates to create a full width container around each page with the id of the post. Lastly, within functions.php, I add css to the page head using the items selected in the extra meta fields for the background colour/image of each page “row”.”

Is there any possibly way you can explain this more in-depth?
Or a link/tutorial you can share with me to help me understand this more?

I’ve got the custom fields up, and in a custom template page… I just don’t understand how you styled them.

    Thanks in advance!

I can’t write up a complete tutorial on how to create a site, I’m sorry. If you want to work out how I changed the templates, then I would suggest looking at the source for the site and comparing that to the source from the default theme.

As far as styling the various sections, I added a hook for wp_head that outputs the styles (ie. background colours, etc) into the head of the site, based on my selections for each post. You can see the styles for each row if you view the source for the homepage.
