CSS problems
-
Hello everybody,
I’m new to self-hosted WP and after installing and customizing Everly Lite theme, I meddled with the CSS in the WP admin backend (yeah, yeah, I know…) and tried to get it back to how it was 5 minutes ago.. I’ve got several problems:
a) In an attempt to remove the white space above header, I removed the white space above category, archive and tag pages. Sites seem unharmed. I want that space back! ??
b) After changing the header image bc I couldn’t find a way to remove the white space I tried to pull up the menu bar a bit higher so it would close up nicely to the header image. No success. All I did was ruining the scroll menu’s child items (the spacing between a menu item and its child).
c) I tried to change the color the links change into (and, additionally, the color at hover of the social icons at the top of the page), to no success.
d) Moving the sidebar up a bit so it would fit perfectly to the site next to it.
e) Defining a pattern background image?! All attempts failed.
So, that’s a lot of problems, and I hope it’s not too much to ask of you guys. I know I’m wrong to directly meddle with the code backend, but I’m preparing the move of my blog and I would like to finish it sooner than later, so I’ve got no time for fancy editing tools. Turns out that way of thinking brought me to my problems. Anyhoo, thanks in advance for any advice! I’d happily post my (messy) CSS code if needed, just tell me what kind of data you need.
