• I have just uploaded my new website and activated the WordPress template I have created. The problem is that even though I use the same CSS for both my html website and WordPress blog it doesn’t look the same. If you look at the top on this page: https://www.pet-art.net and the top of the blog: https://www.pet-art.net/wordpress, the logo and menu within the divs are positioned too low. I just can’t find the problem, can anyone please help!?

With you all a great day by the way…

  • Start by sorting out the markup errors. Then move onto the CSS errors.

Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because on line 230 it contained one or more bytes that I cannot interpret as utf-8 (in other words, the bytes found are not valid values in the specified Character Encoding). Please check both the content of the file and the character encoding indication.

The error was: utf8 “\x96” does not map to Unicode

I don’t have a clue what it’s all about, don’t even know where to look.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I will try that out thanks. The funniest thing is that it’s looking all good in both Firefox and IE, but not in Safari.

No, nothing helped.. I’m quite sure it’s something with the CSS…
