• Hi there,
Under general settings the default value in the dropdown for CSS Output is “Output in <head>”. When I change that value to “Save to filesystem” and press save changes. The value goes back to Output in <head>, it won’t save the choice.

    Thanks,
    Jamie.

    Hi Jamie,

The option will automatically revert to “Output in head” if MMM has been unable to write the CSS to the filesystem*

Please can you check the permissions on your wp-content/uploads folder are set correctly? I think you want 755 for that folder. Then try setting CSS Output back to “Save to filesystem”.

*I need to add a message to say that’s what’s happened, I’ll add that to my backlog now.

I have other issue on CSS as I tried to use multi-line. Following the instruction, I added multi-line CSS styling in mega theme. However, in the menu items, I am not able to find the optional css where I can put multi-line class. I use the free version, if it is relevant.

    Hi wing2go,

Please can you post this in a new topic and include a link to your site? (Your request is unrelated to the original post)

Ah, ok thanks. My permissions are set to 775 on that folder, which should work because the only difference is it’s allowing the group to write. We are using FTP connection setup in our wp-config.php for updating core and plugins etc. could it be something to do with that?

I actually just set permissions on wp-content/uploads folder temporarily to 777 (recursive) and it still doesn’t work. It reverts back to Output in <head>

    Hi Jamie,

Can you check the uploads folder, uploads/maxmegamenu folder, and uploads/maxmegamenu/style.css file are all writeable by the web user?

We use core WordPress functionality to write the style.css file to the filesystem, but it will fall back to “output in head” if any of those processes fail for some reason. Usually it is permissions related.

    Tom
