Nextgen is not loading any CSS onto the page. It is also not loading my galleries which are in themes/mytheme/nggallery

The CSS file I’d like to use is in the folder wp-content/ngg_styles however even the default css file is not being loaded.

I have tried to reset all settings.

I am using WP 5.5.1 and the latest v of NGG.

I also cannot seem to load my templates. Nor do I seem to be able to connect the imagebrowser.

I’m not really sure where to go from here.

I would like to add that I have chosen my custom style sheet from Other Option -> Styles

And have chosen custom CSS and my stylesheet. When I click customization options, I can see the stylesheet. But on the site itself, the CSS file does not load as I don’t see it in the header code anywhere.

    That is problem 1.

Problem #2 is getting it to use my custom page templates which are in my theme folder under nggallery as it says to do in the documentation.

I will add that both the header and footer have their respective <?php wp_header(); ?>and <?php wp_footer(); ?> lines.

Again to give more information, I have multiple templates like this:
    gallery-THIS.php
    gallery-THAT.php

And they were called, at one time, like this template=gallery-THIS

That doesn’t seem to do anything. Why?

I’m not official support, just another user who monitors the support forum…have you tried switching your themes and see if the CSS loads? I’m wondering if it is the plugin not running it or your existing theme blocking it.

    Hi @michael-divine,

First of all, I would check the browser’s console to see if it throws any issue about /wp-content/ngg_styles/nggallery.css file’s loading. It may worth trying to manually re-install NextGen Gallery plugin to see if this will resolve the problem. I need to mention that you can alternately add the custom CSS files to “Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS” and those CSS rules will apply as well.

As for the custom templates that you have created. Can you please confirm that you are trying to use them with Basic Thumbnail gallery display type? The custom templates will not work ( or not any longer work ) with any different gallery display type other than Basic Thumbnail Grid.

I have removed all of my custom templates and css.
My site meets all of the requirements for nextgen. And STILL nothing loads – neither CSS nor imagebrowser galleries.

While I can add code via Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS, i want it loaded in its own style sheet.

FWIW, the NGGallery doesn’t load its own stylesheet either when my own is disabled.

    Hi @michael-divine ,

Can you please let us know if you have already tried to manually re-install NextGen Gallery plugin? This process will not affect your galleries and settings.

I deleted all of the NEXTGEN Gallery Files and uploaded everything again via FTP. Nothing changed.

    Hi @michael-divine,

You’re welcome to contact us through the bug report form here: https://www.imagely.com/report-bug (please refer back to this forum thread and mention that Mihai referred you), and we’ll try to inspect the problem with the default ImageBrowser’s views.

Important to note here that we’ll be unable to provide with any help regarding any of the custom views/templates.
