css in default theme

    in the style.css file of the default theme, it states that

    ‘All CSS that involves the use of images, can be found in the “index.php” file.’

    But I cant find it in the index.php file, neither in
    /wp-content/themes/default/index.php
    or in
    /index.php

    Does anyone know where i can find the hidden css?
