The style I write for WordPress Popular Post category seems to get overwritten by unknown code.

Specifically, I want my wpp-taxonomy categories to be red. This was written in my custom CSS.

I can see the taxonomy font being red when the page loads, but upon completion of rendering, the color changes to gray.

Would you be able to see what caused that?

I have attempted diagnosing with all plugins turned off. The same problem happened. So I assume it could only be due to WPP.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @crpeng,

WPP’s widget themes are self-contained web components, meaning you can’t override its styles using your theme’s stylesheet for example as you’d normally do with other elements on your page.

Please see Customizing an existing WordPress Popular Posts theme to learn how to change the Cards Compact theme so its category links are red.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask, alright?

Most of the customizing guidelines did not work. I got frustrated and did not try them all.

My solution is: abandon WPP blocks, and use shortcode instead. In post-html and wpp-start, I specify my own CSS classes for each elements, and define those classes in Additional CSS.

Now I can style the widget in side bar however I want. The customized CSS is taking effect.

    Thank you.
