CSS for Dropdown

Hi,
I’m using
<?php pll_the_languages(array(‘show_flags’=>1,’show_names’=>0)); ?>And would like to alter the css however it doesn’t seem to work.
I tried .lang-item but it’s not affecting the drop down select css.
