Hi! This plugin is great, and one of the most useful ones I’ve used for web optimization.
However, I’m having trouble trying to remove the blocking CSS. I have checked the option “inline & defer CSS” and follow the instructions to generate the critical CSS. But the the spedd do not grow.

I’m afraid (from what I’ve read in similar questions) that the problem has to do with the inline CSS, it’s huge. But I’ve tried different tools and none of them generate a lighter CSS.

Maybe there’s no solution, I supposed this depends very much on the theme used and other plugins but, am I missing something?

    Thanks, regards!

well, if “inline & defer CSS” is active and you have “above-the-fold CSS” set, then your CSS-files should no longer be render-blocking. if you don’t have render-blocking JS either, then the “first contentful paint” should be significantly better really …

can you share your site’s URL so I can have a quick look?

OK, so “inline & defer CSS” is not active at the moment, can you re-enable it so I can look at what does or does not happen?

    Now you can check thanks

OK, so from the point of view of the HTML all is correct (the critical CSS is inlined, the full CSS is loaded in a non-blocking manner) and Google Pagespeed Insight indeed does not flag the CSS as render-blocking any more, so I think all is fine actually. Why do (or did) you think something is (was) wrong?

Because when do this the speed is slowler.
I don’t understand. It might be faster, not slower.

“speed” can mean a lot of things, but if CSS is not render-blocking your “first contentful paint” should be significantly better. you might be looking at “fully loaded”, but that is a pretty insignificant KPI really.

Yes. But don’t understand why the pagespeed score is lower.

well, of the 6 time-based KPI’s (which all impact the overall score), which ones are better and which ones are worse and by how much?

    any news bigota ?

The same issue. I don’t change this.

yeah, but I mean; do you have answers on my question? ??

I want a lower LCP. The other KPIs are good.
