css color changes the way I want, then goes back to theme

I am using the Avenue theme and went through and changed the color scheme of the entire website from blue to greenusing the css customizing plugin. Everything worked great, until I clicked on a link on the site. Then, all of my a:hover css went back to the original blue color scheme. Everything else stayed green like I wanted it.
The weirdest part is, after this happens when I change anything in the css, for example: if I delete a } and put it back again, it reverts back to how I want it, with the green color scheme. Then when I click on any of the links it does go back to blue again.
It seems like some sort of bug with the plugin or the theme, since it is changing initially then going back again when clicked. I hope there is a solution!
