    Hi,

First and foremost: thank you for writing this plugin! I enjoy using it, and feel safer doing so.

Still, I’ve encountered a problem. It occurs with CryptX 3.1.2 and WP 3.3. I don’t know about previous versions of WP.

When WP generates a page like a category without content, a page is shown that says “Not found” displaying a search box as well. On these pages, CryptX does not encrypt the email addresses. I’ve seen this on several pages, and I think they are all pages saying something like no-results-found, or no-posts-in-this-category, etc. Must have something to do with search results?

(Edit: I have an email address in the footer on my site, so it shows on these result pages as well. The site is not public, yet.)

Could you tell me whether this is fixable and if you are going to?

    Thank you for your time,

    S. Sanches

    Hi Sanches,

sorry for the delay of my answer.

First can you tell me how do you implement the email address in the footer? is it coded with the CryptX function in the template or is it in a widget?

I tried it with an empty category and email addresses in the footer widgets of the Twenty Eleven 1.3 template. But i can’t review your problem.

Please mail me a link to your page, so i can have a look deeper into your site. So i can configure my test WP like your installation. OK?

    Thanks for it,

    Ralf

    Hi Ralf,

I have since removed the mailto link and linked to the contact page instead. Just now I added a test link on my search pages, so you can have a look.

    WordPress versions 3.2.1, 3.3.0, and 3.3.1.
    CryptX version: 3.1.2
Location of the email: inside a widget of the page footer.
Apply CryptX to: all checkboxes are on.
    Type: javascript, load in footer.

My site is here. Just enter any search term that has a hit in the search box (e.g. “ssh”), and you’ll see CryptX at work. Enter any search term for which nothing is found (e.g. “hello”), and CryptX seems to be bypassed.

When searching: on the result page a second copyright is added with a (fake) mailto link for testing only. I also published a sidebar widget on the same search result pages.

If you are unable to get the same results, then please don’t spend any time on this, because I’m starting to think that the problem might be in my theme.

    Thank you!

    Sascha Sanches.

    Hi Sascha,

    your site looks great.

But i can not see the reason for this problem.
On my test site i could not reproduce it.

    Sorry.

Please tell me if you find the reason. If the reason is really CryptX i will try to fix it.

    Hello Ralf,

    Thank you for the compliment!

It must be my theme then. Thank you for your time, and I hope I’ve not wasted too much of it ??

    Regards,

    Sascha
