Cross-Plugin Conflict
-
First-off, I use and love your cross-compatible WP Image Tools, and thank you for providing them:
* ShortPixel Image Optimizer (with subscription)
+ reGenerate Thumbnails Advanced
+ Enable Media ReplaceNow for the Bug (or “feature request” if you prefer):
— The “Regenerate Thumbnails Advanced” plugin undoes the “Resize large images” resizing of “full” images that “ShortPixel Image Optimizer” originally reduced —EXAMPLE:
a) upload a HUGE image, wait for “ShortPixel Image Optimizer” to compress and resize it to the “Resize large images” settings
b) go to any “Set featured image” dropdown in [Edit] page/post & confirm the “full” size matches the “Resize large images” settings
c) run [Regenerate] in the “Regenerate Thumbnails Advanced” plugin
d) go to any “Set featured image” dropdown in [Edit] page/post & observe the “full” size is now reset back to the original HUGE sizeSAD STORY:
As it is now, I upload an image and get all the unwanted Theme sizes, then I have to get rid of them by running [Regenerate] in the “Regenerate Thumbnails Advanced” plugin, only to have the modified “full” image upsized back to its original HUGE size. So I have to choose either too many image sizes with a downsized “full” image, or less sizes with a HUGE “full” image.
NOTE: yes, I have de-selected the unwanted image sizes in “ShortPixel Image Optimizer” but that just prevents them from being compressed, and they still get added to the thumbnail options dropdown, even though I told “Regenerate Thumbnails Advanced” that I don’t want themPOSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:
Good = Add a matching “Resize large images” feature to the “Regenerate Thumbnails Advanced” plugin
Better = The “Good” solution above with cross-compatibilty that matches the “Resize large images” settings in both plugins when you [Submit] them in either plugin
Best = All of the above + IF an image size is de-selected in both plugins THEN they are neither compressed nor generated at all upon upload (they don’t show-up in the thumnail dropdown selectors)Anything you can do to solve this cross-plugin conflict will be greatly appreciated.
