Crop thumbnails only on main/blog page

    Hello team!

    I am looking for how to have the thumbnails for the Featured Images cropped ONLY on the front page/blog part. As you can see from the link, the Featured Images are all a bunch of different sizes, which is OK for the individual posts. But on the main page I would like them to uniform in size. I don’t mind too much how they are cropped, however it *would* be nice if any proposed solution will also expand the image field if the Featured image is too small, kind of like a smaller picture in a square frame, just with extra white on the sides.

    I have the Simple Image Sizes plugin installed but, tbqh, am not sure what specific settings if any will accomplish this.

    Hi Jeff,

    You would have to create a child theme and override the single post templates to use a different image size (one which is not cropped) for featured images.

    You need skills in PHP and WordPress development in order to do this, or hire a freelancer.
