    Hi,
is there an option to crop the images when saving them to the server?

I have looked at the images in the folder

    wp-content/uploads/sb-instagram-feed-images

But they are not cropped and have all different sizes. So on the website the images of the feed have all different sizes too, which doesn’t look very good and actually breaks the flow of the page.

Is there a way to crop the images?

    Thank you and best regards
    Georg

    Hi @georgr,

Thank you for contacting us! Our plugin does not crop the images when it saves optimized copies. The images are saved with several different sizes each so that the plugin can choose the optimal size image to load depending on the size of the feed on your page.

While the plugin doesn’t crop the actual image file, we display the images “cropped” with CSS to ensure they all appear uniformly and correctly within the feed. Sometimes though, CSS conflicts or other issues could affect this presentation. If you could send us a link to the page where you are displaying the feed, we’ll be happy to check on this for any problems.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!

    Hi @smashballoonlouis

Thank you for the answer. OK, I thought they where cropped. The problem appears on this site in the footer of the page https://tinyurl.com/bdfjkp75

It should look like on this theme page but they use all square thumbnails. https://tinyurl.com/4mu59t87

    Thanks for any hint
    Georg

    Hi Georg,

Thanks for the update! I checked https://tinyurl.com/bdfjkp75 and it appears the problem is that a CSS file from the site’s theme is overriding the normal styling of the feed. The file that is doing this is /wp-content/plugins/neobeat-core/assets/css/neobeat-core.min.css and you can see from my screenshot here that if you disable the height; auto !important; from this CSS, the images appear square.

To allow the feed to use it’s normal styling you can either remove the custom rules from that file that override the feed’s styling or you can reach out to the author of the theme for further assistance.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks!

    Hi Louis,
thanks for the hint! I have now kicked out the feed of the theme and use the one of the plugin. I managed it to style it as desired.

    Thanks
    Georg
