Cron and Local Site

No, ThemeGrill Demo Importer plugin doesn’t require cron to import demo themes. You can import demo on the local site if you’d installed ThemeGrill themes.

Failure of the demo import process might be due to different PHP configuration settings used, can you please check this article for the settings in detail?
