With one of the last updates we started to get a “There has been a critical error on this website.” error in the ads list that prevents all ads in the list from loading.

We have total of 17 ads. All other functions work properly. The ads just don’t show up in the list.

    Hi arezvanov

    Thanks for reaching out.

Interesting, I expect this to be connected to the preview image that should show at the position the error occurs. Maybe a somehow broken image file.

Does this also happen with another image ad, or only this one? What happens if you trash this ad unit or re-create it?

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Henning, hi!

Thanks for your response. Indeed, we were reworking the thumbnail images and may have occasionally trashed Advanced Ads previews. Is there a way to regenerate them for existing ads? They don’t show for other ads as well.

What is interesting is that the error happens only on the ad where we have an SVG image as the banner (company logo); other ads with PNG images appear in the list correctly.

If I create a new ad with SVG image it also shows error in the list and doesn’t generate a correct preview.

I can send you the error log if you’ll tell me how to submit it correctly.

    Regards,

    Alexei

    Hi Alexei

    Thanks for the feedback.

I just tried to reproduce the error uploading SVG files as an image ad. I was using a plugin for extending the media library about the SVG compatibility. This file was uploaded successfully and created the preview also showing in the ad list.

Since Advanced Ads uses the build in media library for the image handling, this is the expected behavior. So I expect the issue to be somehow connected with your SVG integration.

I recommend trying a different SVG approach. If you like, please send me the related error messages from your log here marked as inline code or via a pastebin service like this one.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Henning, hi!

Thanks a lot for your help. Installation of SVG compatibility plugin and re-upload of ads with SVG banners solved the problem ??

Great to hear, and thank you so much for the feedback.

Do you enjoy using the Advanced Ads plugin so far, and would you find a minute to say it here?

    Best regards,
    Henning
