    Hi!

The hosting provider said Phar is active on the account. We’re using PHP 7.4.10.

    Hello,

We are also receiving the exact same error message as @warrensamu, see below. @warrensamu have you heard back from support, or were you able to find any solution?

    I haven’t heard back.

I contacted SiteGround Support directly and they gave me standard troubleshooting steps to follow:

    • Reset file/folder permissions
    • Disable plugins/themes
    • Manually migrate
    • Pay SiteGround to migrate

I will probably just migrate the site myself tomorrow if a plugin developer does not respond.

It is discouraging to see others are running into the same problem. I’m guessing across hosting providers. This account happens to be with iPage.

Unfortunately, the SG Migrator plugin is pretty hit or miss. Half the time it doesn’t work because of the way the origin web host has their servers configured and there’s nothing they will do to help. Part of the reason why people are migrating from them to SiteGround in the first place ??

    Hey there @warrensamu,

Usually, when this error is present, the Phar extension is not set or not configured properly.

Do you experience the same error if you try with a different PHP version?

    Kind regards,
    Stoyan

I did try different PHP versions.

The web host provider said Phar was present. I can’t confirm whether it’s configured properly.

The only way I could solve this was with going to PHP 7.3

    Hey there @warrensamu,

I am afraid that there is not much we can do about that issue, since it looks like may be caused by your current hosting provider’s environment setup.

    Kind regards,
    Stoyan
