    Hi @melchristie,

    Thanks for reporting the issue.

We’ve discovered that if burst is updated while not logged in, this can result in an error. We will release an update soon.

In the meantime, to get your site up and running again, please access your site with an FTP client or file manager, and rename the plugin folder in wp-content/plugins, for example to burst-statistics-bkp. This will resolve the issue for now.

I’ve created a patch for this which can be downloaded here:
    https://github.com/Really-Simple-Plugins/burst

We’ll release it on wordpress first thing in the morning.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

With that update you broke 6 websites I maintain as a volunteer… can’t login and the websites only showing the critical error page. Not funny. Even when updating the plugin while being logged in, it kills the page.

This .zip should fix it, regards Aert

Yep… FTP’d all 7 sites I maintain (burst broke my woocommerce shop too) and replaced class-endpoint.php – now it’s all good again. Thanks.

I also lost a few WP sites in the update and have disabled Burst for now.

Are you saying it’s safe to reactivate and update manually?

Should we be turning off auto-updates for Burst?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @benwrigley,

I am sorry to hear that. I would recommend to update before re-activating. You may expect from us that Burst and future updates are stable enough to keep auto-updates enabled.

    We apologise for this incident.

    Kind regards,
    Leon

Hi, I am not able to get access to my website via ftp. Will it be solved without me uploading fixes?

    Hi @ntntxt,

If Burst is disabled, you can update the plugin via the plugins page. There should be an update 1.3.1 ready. After updating, you can activate the plugin again, and there should not be any problems.

    We apologise for this incident.

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

Hi and thanks for the answer. My problem is: I can’t acess my site. So I can’t disable Burst, I can’t update Burst, I can’t upload a patch or rename a folder. I can’t do anything. What should I do?

Edit: I found out how to acess via hoster. Thanks.

    Hi @ntntxt,

We’re sorry to hear that. You should contact your hosting provider and ask them to deactivate Burst Statistics. They can delete the ‘burst-statistics’ folder from ‘/wp-content/plugins’. After that, you should be able to access your website. You can install Burst again from the plugins page and it should not cause any issues because we have fixed the problem in the latest release.

We are very sorry for the trouble we have caused. We will do our very best to prevent this from happening again.

    Kind regards,
    Hessel
