Critical Error when trying to update to v1.6.8

I’ve been continually getting a critical error on my WordPress site whenever I try to update the Graphina plugin to the current latest version (v1.6.8) .. which always requires that I restore from a backup and revert back to the previous version (v1.6.7).

The specific error message that I’m getting is as follows:

An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 3484 of the file /home/royalpal/dev.royalpalm.com/wp-content/plugins/graphina-elementor-charts-and-graphs/utils/graphina_chart_helper.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’
