Critical Error when trying to customise

  • I have installed the Astra free theme and am trying to start building my website but as soon as I press the customise button I get the error “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.? Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.”

    I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it happens every time. I’m not getting an email in the site admin email inbox either. Has anyone else had this issue or does anyone have any advice. I would add I am not very technically minded so any help would be appreciated ??

    Sorry for the problem you are facing. Anyway, what if you temporarily deactivate all of the plugins installed on your site? Are you able to go to the Customizer without seeing the issue?

    I was getting the same error. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, including WP, and all was fine until I installed Astra. Then even after uninstalled, I kept getting the critical error message when trying to customize. I spent two entire days trying to figure it out, and finally had to install another theme, although I wanted Astra. After this latest WP update and Astra update, I hope the problem is resolved so I can use Astra.
