Having issues from the get go trying to get this plugin operating correctly. Installed it, did what it asked me to do and still getting “critical errors” when trying to either save as draft or post new events.

Wasn’t sure if you could provide some information on where to go from here. Thanks.

    Hi @cbergy21

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue. Let me help you with this one.

From your Events > Troubleshooting, please check the following values and share it with us.

    • Custom Tables Migration Status
    • Custom Tables Health Check

Moreover, did you install a fresh The Events Calendar plugin or you already installed it previously and just recently upgraded it to the latest version?

    Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you so much for the reply. With it being the free version, I understand the limits of helping so thank you for looking into it. I did check the troubleshooting and the requested lines are as follows:

    Custom Tables Migration Status
    Completed

Custom Tables Health CheckMissing Event Table Data | Missing Occurrences Table Data | Event Table Missing | Occurrences Table Missing

It was originally an upgraded version but it started doing this same thing right after upgrading. So I uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled it using the WordPress plugin directory with the same result.

    Hi @cbergy21

Thanks for your response. Would it be possible for you to set up a staging version of your live site and try to re-do the migration from there? I suspect there’s an issue with your migration.

Here are the steps to revert and re-do the migration:

    1. Update to the latest versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro.
    2. Remove any un-needed draft events and empty the Trash.
    3. Activate only our plugins and use the 2020 theme.
    4. Make sure server-side caching is disabled temporarily while you’re migrating your events.
    5. Install and activate the Code Snippets plugin.
    6. Add this snippet and run it once (be sure it does not stay activated).
    7. Go to Events > Settings > Upgrades and go through the migration process again.

Please re-do the migration on your staging site.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the instructions. Ended up working with my hosting support to stage the site. Changed theme to 2020, disabled all plugins except TEC, disabled any and all caching. Ran the code, started the migration process again and it just hangs on that same screen, only instead of a blue clickable box that says “Start Migration Preview”, it’s now grayed out, no longer clickable. I let it sit this way (with only 4 events) for several minutes. I then refreshed the page and could then see the Migration preview in progress page. It’s showing 4 remaining events to preview but none have been previewed. It’s been in this stage now for several more minutes with no progress.

    Hello @cbergy21,

    Thanks for your reply.

Could you check if your site’s WP Memory is low. You can use?this plugin?to check your memory usage. If the usage percentage is over 75% when you try to run the preview, that’s likely the issue. Increase your WP Memory limit and try again.

If that didn’t help, try this snippet:

    add_filter( 'tec_events_custom_tables_v1_db_transactions_supported', function(){ return false; } );

Also, confirm if there are no caching or whatsoever on the server side before proceeding.

    I hope that helps.

    Hi @cbergy21

I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to touch base and check in with you. It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from you. I was just curious if you had the chance to try out the recommendation provided above.

Let me know if there’s anything I can assist you with.
