• I am running Wordfence on a clients website that is hosted on Cloudways.

[MAR 31 21:20:12] There has been a critical error on your website.Learn more about debugging in WordPress.

The error logs on the server contain this
    [Wed Apr 01 01:20:24.191674 2020] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 6201] (104)Connection reset by peer: [client 167.172.123.41:33184] AH01075: Error dispatching request to :

The site is only a month or two old so not too bloated, haven’t seen this error on other websites.

I spoke with cloudways support and they couldn’t see any issue on their end.

Everything looks okay under Diagnostics, at least to me but I may be missing something.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hey @one3rdnerd,

I believe this may be a PHP configuration issue that could be associated with a bug. Can you please share which version of PHP you’re running? You might ask your host to upgrade you to the latest version of PHP to see if it helps.

Also, if you enable wp_debug in your wp-config.php do you see any other errors?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Hi Gerroald,

    Thanks for the feedback.

PHP version is 7.3, which is the highest they offer at the moment, 7.4 isn’t available yet.

When I put wb_debug to true, there are no errors.

I think I turned most plugins off too but no change there.

    Hey @one3rdnerd,

Can you please disable the (or ask your host to) ImageMagick PHP module and let me know if it helps? I’ve seen other reports that there was a bug in lower PHP versions, but not PHP 7.3, however, it will help either identify this or rule it out.

This is just an example of what I’ve been looking at.

Please give this a try and let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Hi Gerroald,

    Thanks for that info.

It seems that did the trick and it looks like the scan completed this time but I did get a warning.

[APR 01 16:52:56] Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /public_html/wp-admin/includes/plugin-install.php on line 219 0

I had the host *Cloudways, disable ImageMagick PHP module and now I can perform a scan normally but did get the above warning.

It also solved an issue I had under the WP health check

The loopback request to your site failed, this means features relying on them are not currently working as expected.
Error encountered: (0) cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

I am on PHP 7.3 but they allowed support for 7.4 today so going to upgrade and hopefully the issue will remain fixed.

    I appreciate you, stay safe.
