Hi, I was updating my plugins and after I did the elementor update this message displayed on the website: “There has been a critical error on this website.” message on the screen.

When I deactivate elementor, the website is running normally (besides the change in appearance).

When I check the error page on cpanel, this is the most recent one:
AH01797: client denied by server configuration: /public_html/wp-content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads/

I have also tried changing the PHP versions but that has not worked either. Please advise if there is anything I can do to fix this. Thanks

  • Hi,

To troubleshoot this issue, follow these instructions:

Deactivate all plugins apart from Elementor. If this helps, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.

If this doesn’t work, switch your theme temporarily to Twenty Nineteen and see if that helps.

If this doesn’t work, make sure you are using the updated versions of Elementor.

If this doesn’t work, make sure your WordPress site meets the basic requirements recommended for Elementor. You can check this in your WP Dashboard > Elementor > System Info. If needed, you can ask your hosting provider to make these changes for you.

Hello, I have the same issue: after updating I get critical error message and site not loading, when I deactivate Elementor the site is loading but looks funny.

Yeah, it’s a little disappointing because I used this plugin for multiple sites and the only fix appears to be deactivating everything to see which one is incompatible.

What I did in the meantime was downgrade the Elementor version to the one I had previously.

@mmachado22 Yeah, thank you! I started deactivating all the plugins and reactivating one by one all of them and somehow my website came back to life ?? I didn’t really understand what happened there.

    Hi, @annalogic @mmachado22

Elementor displays all the widgets including default WP and third-party widgets. They are separated by section Headings in the widget area.

However, we can provide support only for those that we create, we are not aware of the third-party widgets code and functionality.

I’m sorry to hear that it doesn’t work, but this is for sure a good question for the plugin’s support team since the issue is not appearing when you deactivate other plugins.

So please consider writing to them.
