Critical Error after Update to PHP 8

    When I update my site to PHP 8, Facebook for Woocommerce produces a critical error on the site. I’ve tested with a different theme and with all other plugins inactive and it still produces this error:

    Hi @glabs,

    Could you please check your Facebook For WooCommerce plugin version?

    We believe that we have already fixed this issue in one of the latest releases ( 3.0.18 ). So please check your version and update it in case it is older than the one I have mentioned. The latest available version is 3.0.26. I hope that this will help.

    We’re running the latest version Version 3.0.26 (all our software is up to date and we’re currently testing with just Woocommerce and Facebook for Woocommerce active on Twenty Twenty theme.

    Can you please try to disable this plugin and enable Facebook for WooCommerce and see if this resolves the issue here? It is possible that this plugin is causing conflict with Facebook for WooCommerce.

    Otherwise, it looks like a third-party plugin or your theme might be causing the conflict here.

    For us to investigate this further, can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce and Facebook for WooCommerce plugins are enabled and see if this works?

    If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

    Thank you for your help. I had already tested with all plugins except Woocommerce and Facebook for Woocommerce disabled and also with some WP default themes and I continued to get the error. I also re-tested with the latest version of the plugin (3.0.27) and it is still causing a critical error.

    Hello @glabs,

    Thank you for sharing the logs!

    I’m not sure if it’s a bug, but both WordPress installations have the PHP Time Limit set to zero.

    This value is for the maximum execution time for PHP scripts, meaning If a script runs for longer than the set value in seconds, PHP stops the script and reports an error.

    Please try increasing it to at least 900 and try testing again. Your hosting provider should be able to help you with this.
