Hello Im new to WordPress and after installing a theme (Qudos | Multi-Purpose Business & Portfolio for Elementor WordPress Theme) my site is broken. When navigating to the site URL it says: A critical error has happened. When navigating to the wp-admin panel it says: A critical error has occurred on this site. Check your site administrator email inbox for instructions.

When I installed WordPress and changed my email I didn’t confirm it. So perhaps that’s the reason why I dont reveive instructions on my new email (and also not on the old email that was set up.

How can I fix this issue?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @grevendj is your website a fresh WordPress install or you installed the theme with pre-existing themes on it?

Do you have a caching plugin installed? If yes, kindly disable them first via cPanel or FTP access by renaming their folder.

Let me know if it fixed the issue.

Hello @jaygumanid thanks for your reply. I think there were alreay some themes on it when I installed WordPress. Also I installed a premium theme that I used for a few days. Im not sure if I have a caching plugin since I can’t access my cPanel anymore. How can I login on the FTP? just with a basic FTP connection and WordPress credentials?

First of all, you need access to your cPanel. There’s no other way since you can no longer access your WordPress dashboard.

FTP access is also granted via cPanel. So you must get a hold of that access to fix this issue. If you don’t have access, you need to ask for it from your hosting admin.

Oh @jaygumanid sorry I misunderstood. via my hosting providers cpanel I’ve just disabled the litespeed-cache plugin. I’m not able to login to my wp-admin page (yet).

Alright cool. @grevendj go to your themes folder and delete the theme folder you just uploaded. The Qudos theme. That should fix the critical error and you should be able to login to your WordPress dashboard.

Next thing is, on your dashboard Appearance > themes activate the twenty twenty-two theme. Thats the default theme.

Next is, deactivate unused plugins from your previous theme.

Lastly, upload and activate your Qudos theme.

Let me know if the error still persists after activation of the said theme.

Thanks. I managed to delete the theme folder and now I can access the wp-admin page again. I still need to remove the plugins that came in with the Qudos theme and reinstall the Qudos theme after. I will try to do this later today. Thanks for your help so far!

@grevendj Glad that’s fixed. Let me know how else I could help. Cheers.
