• I’m experiencing the same problem. Noticed I got an email saying I was auto-updated to 6.2. Checked my website a few moments later. Critical error.

I have to do my taxes tomorrow, and work my regular job Friday & Saturday, so sucks to be missing out on ad sense money and affiliate sales.

But will try to look into a fix next week. I suspect I’ll have to grab my Updraft files from maybe not the very last backup, but the one before, then turn off, auto updates, like one other person did above.

I’m assuming X theme is not compatible with 6.2 and I’ll have to buy X theme pro.

  • X theme has just released a new update due to a conflict with WordPress 6.2 (read more here). Assuming no access to the WordPress dashboard, download the latest version of the theme (v. 10.1.10), log into the control panel provided by your host (e.g. cPanel), use the File Manager to navigate to /wp-content/themes/, delete or rename the existing X theme folder in that directory, and then upload the latest version to that directory and “extract” the files. Hey presto, the site should be accessible again.

It looks like there is an X Theme and X Theme Pro. I would expect that basic X Theme to be updated too, so look into that update before deciding to take the plunge with the paid version.
