• I got a critical error on one of my wordpress websites this morning.

I actually have 2 very similar website using similar plugins and the same theme, one was auto updated to 6.2 (and got the critical error) and the other wasn’t (and I disabled very quickly the auto update).

I have disabled the plugins first and it didnt allw me to access wp-admin, then I disabled the theme and I could go back to wp-admin, so I guess the theme makers need to update it to be compatible with 6.2…

I am rolling back to 6.1.1 for now, hoping to get everything back this way otherwise I have a recent backup of my website anyway.

I disabled auto core update on all my websites as a precaution until I can test everything is safe… and I guess I will go back to this practice of manually updating the core and critical plugins after testing/backup for safety…

Good luck with your problem, it might be your theme too.

EDIT : just finished my rollback to WordPress 6.1.1 (check on google how to do it, not too difficult) and my website is back ! It might be the fastest solution for you too to resolve the issue.

I will investigate on a test environment now and contact the theme makers. As I said, for now I have disabled auto core update on my wordpress websites until I test all of them.
