I have migrated a client website with TranslatePress from my server using Duplicator. The website was already translated on this server before being migrated to client’s server to be live.

TranslatePress was taking a very long time to load the translated version of this website’s homepage. I tried to deactivate and reactivate it but it did not fix the problem. I chose to update to the most recent version. Since then I have been receiving WSOD at random times.

I rename my plugins folder to deactivate all plugins and try to rename one by one. I reactivated TranslatePress and everything seemed okay. But when I started reactivating other plugins, I would get WSOD at random times.

I have decided to uninstall and delete the TranslatePress plugin and re-download it. After trying to activate it once, I receive WSOD. I deactivate all plugins again and then reactivate TranslatePress. WSOD goes away.

When I try to go to the translated version of the website (/fr), I get an HTTP error 500.

Can you help me get this working? When I delete TranslatePress through WordPress, does it delete all of the plugin data? I don’t think so as the plugin still remembers I had the /fr translation made. What should I do?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

The translation from the Translatepress are saved in the database. so even if you delete the plugin you will still have the translations.

Please try to migrate the website with the “All-in-one-wp-migration” and see if this is working.

    If not, let me know!

    Cheers,

Hi, thing is, I’d rather not have to re-migrate the entire site. Is there no way for me to purge the database of what TranslatePress has added and try again?

I have the plugin running right now. You can test it and see that when I click “Francais”, there is a significant delay in how fast the homepage’s translation is applied. Can you help me figure out why? This issue only seems to happen on the homepage.

    Hello,

If you want to do that you must search in the database for:

*trp_* you need to delete every data table with trp in it and you should be good to go.

    As for why.
It could be because you have an incompatibility with a plugin who use some sort of a caching system.

You can deactivate the “Disable dynamic translation” from the Translatepress Advanced tab.

    Kind regards,
    Denis,
