• I am unable to edit this page from the backend of the website. I know the website is really old and needs an overhaul, but I’d love to in the meantime be able to help the client access this page. I’ve disabled plugins and restored a WP theme but still unable to access the back end of this page. is anyone able to identify the issue for me? thank you. It’s just this one page.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @lauriek

Your support title reads “Critical Error” which tells me you’re getting an error message with those words when you try to edit that page. Does that error message give you any other details?

If you’ve disabled plugins and restored a WP theme, then it’s possible that something specific on that page could be the problem. Do you have access to edit the wp-config.php file, so that you can enable the WordPress debug log?

Enabling this, and viewing the log file, might help you isolate what the problem is.

Hi, yes the message states’ There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.’ There’s no other information

Currently I don’t have access to the wp-config file to debug but I can try arrange this if there’s no other way of knowing what’s causing the error. thanks.

Yes, in that case, if the site is not sending an email to the admin email address, you might need to enable the debug log, to see if any errors are being reported.
