We’ve received this error from WordPress relating to the CleanTalk plugin. We always kept everything up to date and not sure why we are now seeing this issue.

    The email we received says:
    ###
Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Security by CleanTalk.
    ###

We have also experienced intermittent login issues when the critical issue presents itself. Is this a PHP issue, possible server disk space issue, or something wrong with our integration suddenly?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Please send us more details about the errors. What errors do you receive? What errors about the CleanTalk plugin are in your PHP logs?

We are using PHP v 7.3. The consistent error log shows this recurring error:

[02-Apr-2022 01:31:54 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2455584 bytes) in /home/kopf/public_html/new2021/wp-content/plugins/security-malware-firewall/lib/CleantalkSP/SpbctWP/Scanner/Heuristic/Tokens.php on line 286

What is your PHP memory size? Did you try to increase it? You can ask your hosting support about this.

Hi – thanks for the reply. I’m investigating with the host company and will get back to you asap.

I’ve just heard word back from the hosting compange with:
“Request was for 134MB and PHP is set to 128 in the server for the memory limit. I have gone ahead and increased this to 192MB for you. Does that fix your error?”

We’ll keep an eye on the error log, but should this now fix this issue?

We are going to improve memory utilization during the scan process in the next stable release 2.84, the estimated date is Apr 11.

    Please, wait.
