Credit link inserted without permission

    First of all thanks for the great plugin, it truly is an outstanding work and all the 5 star ratings including mine speak the same. However, inserting your credit link without prior permission of the users are against WordPress Policy and I’m sure most don’t appreciate the fact.

    “The plugin must not embed external links on the public site (like a “powered by” link) without explicitly asking the user’s permission.” – WordPress

    Please consider giving the option to your users to show or not show the link.

    Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t see anywhere in the settings that this can be turned off.

    Here’s what shows up in the pages source:

    I’m indeed aware of the guideline violation and the link will be removed in the next update (version 2.2.4), which I expect to release next week.

    Hi Stefan,

    Thanks for your response and again thanks for sharing your work. Keep the link in there, just make sure that people know about it and they can remove it if they wish to. You’ll be amazed how many will keep it anyway.

    One more humble suggestion that I have is to include width and height attributes with images. It makes a big difference performance wise.

    I’ll have a look at where I’d be able to place the link option best.

    Thanks for the suggestion, coincidentally I heard the same thing from my boss yesterday. The height and width attributes will be added to the images in version 2.3, or an earlier release.

    Hi Chris,

    I’ve gone with removing the link entirely from the slideshow in the 2.2.4 update, until I come up with a good location for the opt-out option.

    I also moved the image CSS dimensions to the image element itself so the page’s rendering will be improved.

    Hi Stefan,

    I see that you added height and width, thanks for that. Just the heads up that the width and height attributes are still not showing. You can see them in browser inspector but in the source.

    Hi Chris,

    The source is the unmanipulated document that the browser receives to render the website from. The browser inspector shows you the source that it’s currently using and all manipulations done by scripts on the website.

    I’ll make sure the next version does output the original image sizes when the website is loading, by retrieving them from the database. There’s no release date set for this update, though.
