    I am using woocommerce with PayPal Express. I am testing in Sandbox mode. When the PayPal Express button is chosen the buyer gets 2 options:

    (1) Pay via logging into their PayPal account (which works)

    (2) Pay using a credit card without creating a PayPal account (this does not work). The error message is “We’re sorry, we can’t complete your purchase right now.
    Please return to the seller’s website and choose another way to pay.”

    I have tried a few times yesterday & today but same error message.

    Any ideas?

    Hey there!

    That typically is due to a setting in your PayPal account.

    PayPal has an option that allows customers to check out without creating an account. The setting is called PayPal Account Optional, and can be found inside of your PayPal account in the My Profile section. Go to My selling tools > Website Preferences, and turn on PayPal Account Optional. To learn more, see: PayPal’s Website.

    My PayPal account already has the correct setting and doesn’t require the buyer to create a PayPal account.

    I’d prefer to use PayPal Express if someone can help me to get it to work, but until then I will have to use PayPal Standard.

    Hi there,

    Once the popup is loaded, this is handled by PayPal. Your best option is to contact PayPal to see if everything is all set on that end.
