Creative Theme Suggestions

  • My idea:

    I’m looking for a theme for which I can have a main image on the homepage which I creatively layout elements around and on top of, not tied to something formal like a sidebar or widgets.

    Ideally I would be giving the user of the site the feeling that the main image was interactive. I thought I could do this by creating .png images that were links with cut out background and place them over the main image. Is this possible on wordpress? Can anyone suggest a theme which may be able to do something close to this.

    The main thing I’m looking for is a theme where I can create images, that I can layout anywhere on the homepage and use them as links.

  • Sounds like you may want to try a landing page plugin – which would give you a “blank” page for the home page.

    Or you could make a child theme for whatever theme you are using, create a custom template for the home page – which is largely blank – and add HTML and CSS however you like. Specifics would depend on the theme.
