    Hi,

I am trying to create variable products on my website importing a csv. I first tried to create variable products on my own (I’ve already used the CSV export/import funcionality to change attributes -prices, descriptions, images), but only got a new variable product with no variations (and appearing out of stock).
I then followed the steps mentioned here with the same result.

All I get is a new variable product with no varaitions and Out Of Stock.

Can I get some help please?

    Things already done:
    – Downloaded all products and used the same csv (so no formatting issues with csv – I even tried creating a new product using an old one with a new name.. same result)
    – Creating a simple product and changing it to variable with csv, and then try to make the variations.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please share the CSV file with me that you are trying to import so that I can check it out on my end?

You can share the file with only a few records, so I can try to import and check what could be the issue with that.

    Sure, here it goes!

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Thanks so much for the info.

Please be sure the product is in stock, I mean how many units do you have available? This can be added in the column O, let us know if this makes a difference.

    Cheers ??

    HI,
All these products are produced on-demand so there’s “unlimited stock”. In all our current products we have the “Stock” column empty and it works just fine. That’s not the issue.
    Any other idea?

    Thanks

    Hello,

I understand. I was checking on my testing site that is using WooCommerce, and Storefront, on my end, it is working, I only added the stock to the variants, and changed the Publishedcolumn to 1 which means published.

I’m using the same file and adding stock into it, but when I create the product I don’t get any variation created.
I also tried to create the variable product with no variations using the csv (this works fine), created the variations in wp-admin, donwloaded the csv with the variable and variations, updated price and images for the variations, deleted variable, imported the file… and suddenly the variations are gone.

    Any help please?

    Hi @scoler

That’s odd ?? you can try this, you can delete the item, I mean to delete it also on Trash, then you can import the CSV file again, this is to avoid any duplication or abortion of the process.

Let us know how it goes.

I am still having this issue ??
I create the variable product but the variations don’t get imported (and the product remains with no variation and Out of Stock)

    Any ideas? ??

    Hello,

Sorry to hear that. You can do the following:

    — Switch your theme to Storefront.
    Disable all plugins except WooCommerce.
    — Import the CSV file again.

Check if the issue is present at this point, if not, it means there was a conflict and you can reactivate the theme and plugins gradually one by one and check again after each reactivation until the cause of the problem is found:
You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    I hope this helps.

I don’t think it’s the theme’s fault. I have followed Woocommerce directions to the T and nothing. My Attributes are imported, the “used for variations” checkmark is checked, but no variations are created. Something is wrong either with the importer or the sample data is missing a column.

    Hi @noche70!
I could finally solved it! When creating the viariables, even if the first product (the “Variable” one) is set as “-1” on “published?” (draft), the variations should be set as 1 (published).
This way it finally worked! I create the products in draft (with the variations as “published”) and then publish it from wordpress.

    Hope it helps!

    Hi @scoler

I’m glad we were able to help! ??

You are correct to change the column Published to 1 instead of -1. This was also suggested by Igor above.

If you have a few minutes, we’d love it if you could leave us a review:

    Hi @noche70

Since you’re not the person who originally started this topic then, per the forum guidelines, would you please start your own topic? We’ll be more than happy to help there ??
