• I am looking at creating 2 versions of my website.

The first version which is the main version will be presented entirely in the English language.

The second version of the site will be presented in a different language. I am thinking of using a subdomain for this version of the site.

For example https://www.eng_ver.com will be my main site.
    https://www.eng_ver.com/non-eng-ver/ will be my subdomain

From the english website I will link to my subdomain if the user so chooses to see the non english version of the site.

To achieve the above, is it a matter of simply installing WP on the main doamin and the subdomain?

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I am a newbie at this but I am willing to learn.

I’ve got the main site working but am stuck on how to approach my non-eng version of the site.

  • 1. example.com/non-eng – is NOT a subdomain, it is a subfolder!
    2. What you have described is one possible solution, although, probably, not the best. It all depends on what are you planning to do.
    3. If you plan to have the same posts translated by you into a second language (i.e. same content in two languages), I would use a plugin like Gengo to have a bilingual (multilingual) blog.
    4. I posted a while ao about using WP for a multilingual blog – see if it helps.
