Creating multiple curated related posts lists?

Hello,

I’ve never used ACF before but I think it can do what I need. I’m interested in creating a variety of different bullet point lists displaying the title of the the top 5 posts (chosen manually by me) based on different topics like ‘best posts on cars” and “best posts on gardening.”

I’d like to be able to select which posts appear in each group, and place them within a post in sections of the post that discusses these topics (like a paragraph mentioning a car, displaying a 5 bullet point list of our top car posts.)

I’d also like to be able to remotely control these grouped posts, so if I add a new post to one of those groups, it will update universally across all posts that use the shortcode/ACF output. Managing these groups links remotely is key.

As I’ll have to manually edit several hundred posts, I want to make sure the effort is worth it and use the best plugin for this job.

Is this something I could implement with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and if so, how would I go about it?
