Creating Modular Video Course

    I wonder if you can help me please?

    I am after two things which I suspect are probably plug-ins, but I have no idea what to look for.

    Firstly, I run a series of short courses. Namely ‘beekeeping for beginners’. People attend my two day course and go away with a headful of knowledge. However, I get requests for some sort of ability to get hold of the information after the course. Some people ask for handouts, but I keep my costs low and to print handouts for everyone is costly (and frankly a waste of paper in most cases).

    Is it possible to give those that attend my courses a unique code and cut off time where they would be able to access some pages on which I can build some sort of post-course information sheets? They can then download these and print them at home.

    Secondly, I would like to begin to think about running on-line courses. I’m thinking of recording my lessons on video and loading them to an on-line modular course. The idea is that those that are not able to attend my courses can simply pay a fee on line and slowly go through a modular course structure. Again, at the completion of this course people will be able to download fact sheets pertinent to the course they have attended.

    Do you have any plug-ins or programmes that I can use to get either, or both, of these things running?

    I appreciate they are probably designed and built by third parties, but I simply do not have a clue what I should be looking for.

    Can you advise please?

  • Just a thought but maybe you could create the documents from each class into a pack of PDFs and offer them for sale for a reasonable price (enough content to be a valuable purchase but not complete enough to give away the whole course to those who should actually buy the course).

    Your shopping cart can probably handle ‘digital goods’ for immediate purchase and download. You could probably make the home printed PDF pack a prerequisite for taking the class.

    After a bit you’ll have your materials organized enough to build the first course online and you can make the PDF pack a bonus pack for that course.

    Later on you can offer the second course online making the first online course and the second course’s PDF pack a prerequisite for the second.
