• Hi everyone,
I’m fairly new to wordpress and somehow, after a long trial and error period, I managed to set up a somewhat decent homepage for myself.
Now I noticed that it’s not mobile friendly / tablet friendly.
I installed the Gutenverse plugin, that should make the Kavana template responsive, but it hasn’t changed anything.
I really don’t know what and where to change something and I thought maybe someone in the community can give me some hints as to where I can find the right settings to make my site mobile friendly.

    Kind regards
    Tina

  • Hello @tinahuegel,
You can change the editor from desktop to tablet/mobile to make a responsive page. https://ibb.co/5MM6t39
It’s a feature from WordPress to make a responsive website.
The idea is to make your desktop version, tablet version, and mobile version of your website.
Some options in our block can have different values on desktop, tablet, or mobile. The value that can have different values based on your screen is the one that has this icon beside the label.

    Hi @putra1arya
    Thank you for your reply.
But I think “responsive” should mean, that the tablet / mobile version are matched to the desktop version automatically, without me doing anything? If I had to match them myself, manually, it would not be called “responsive” right?
    I’m very confused now.

    Hi @tinahuegel

responsive just means the interface response to the change of device screen size. In web design, responsiveness can be created by modifying the CSS to match a certain screen size.

installing gutenverse plugin is a requirement to use kavana theme. It is a plugin that is mobile and tablet friendly, but not necessarily to make the site automatically responsive. By default, kavana has mobile and tablet versions of the design, but if you have edited the theme parts, then you also need to set the design to be responsive meaning you need to manually design the site on mobile and tablet mode.

to my knowledge, there are no plugins to make a page automatically responsive in wordpress.

    hope this answers your questions.

    @gowinda

Thank you for your reply. I see! (I wish I would have known that when I started to design it. WordPress is a bit of a challenge for me. Haha.) Thank you!

    You are welcome!

Do not give up, once you get the hang of it, WordPress can be a powerful tool to build a website.
