I decided to update an old site with a new responsive theme and other good stuff. When I created a menu in Appearance / Menus (the old theme didn’t support that), all of my 200+ published posts disappeared from the database. Only three old draft posts showed up in All Posts.

Fortunately, I have a good database backup, which I restored. The above has happened three times while I was trying to figure out what was going on. It happens whether the new theme or the old theme is activated.

I hope I don’t have to leave this old site the way it is! Do you have a suggestion?

What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

The problem turned out to be the result of a plugin that removes old posts. I had used it to get rid of a lot of old garbage and forgot to deactivate it.
