• I downloaded WordPress through Yahoo Small Business. However, when going to the website before it showed the old site and I wanted it to show it through WordPress. I used their live support chat to change that and they turned it into a blog, they also told me that I can change the blog and make it look like a website. How can I go about and do this? Is it possible to change the blog into a website. I have to build a website from scratch from the blog.
    Please help, thank you.

  • Hello there,

Your WordPress site is ready and default to the blog view.

Was your previous site on WordPress too? If yes, its easy to migrate

If not, then you can go to Appearance and select a Theme for your site.

@sweethomeproductions – For the most part, with a basic installation of WordPress you will need to look at the Settings > Reading and change your options for “Your homepage displays” to use a static page.

By choosing to use a static page (which you may need to create) when people visit your site they will see a “website” versus seeing a “blog” as your site is currently configured.

I hope this helps get you moving forward.

WordPress has pages and posts already built in so you can decide how you want to handle things.
You can use any combination of posts and pages to create a website.
You can select from many themes for different layouts.
You can add images and colors and text to customize different areas.
Start by learning by creating a few pages and posts in your WordPress dashboard.
