creating a simple theme with menu that i can add pages to

  • I am trying to create a site for my work and would like to make a relatively simple theme that consists of a custom menu layout. I can create the menu with HTML/CSS but i need to make it wordpress compatible so i can add pages and sub pages through the WP back end.

    How should i approach this? Or does anyone know a good resource for this particular question?
