Creating a searchable tag from field input

Hi there ??

I want to create a Tag (Such as a post tag) from the value inputted in a form field. So that users can search and browse through all entries associated with that particular keyword.

Is that possible using CFDB and its short codes or would I have to look at custom post types option for this? Does CFDB work with Custom Post types? The reason I ask is it is a lot more easier to user the cfdb html technique to show a view of data, as compared to a non coder like me writing php code to output custom post type views.
