  • In order for the read more jump to appear, you have to insert a “read more tag” while writing the post.

It’s easy. When you are writing the post in the editor, place the cursor where you want read more jump to appear on the homepage. Then simply click on the “Insert read more tag” icon in the toolbar (second last icon in the first line of icons)

    Thanks, Raj!

Is there a way to use the post excerpt instead of inserting a more tag within the post?

Didn’t quite get the question @mhdhallak

But the only way to have the post excerpt on the homepage is to use the more tag, if that’s what you’re asking.

Yes, you can code up a script in functions.php which will automatically break each post after a certain number of characters and display it on the homepage with a link to the full post, but that would be very tricky! ??
