• Basic question here:

I’d like to use WP as a lightweight CMS for me so that I can add a few pages here and there for me. I’d like to add a few subpages to each main section with a hyperlink for each subpage.

But I want to know is it possible to create these subpages and make sure that don’t show up on the sidebars. Basically, I want to know if I can create a subpage that can only be accessed if I give someone a link to it and/or if it is linked from a parent page.

I know it sounds like a rookie question, but hey, I’m a rookie ??

    thanks.

  • If you don’t have the wp_list_pages Template Tag called in the sidebar then none of your Pages will show up – they’ll all be hidden. There is also an option to exclude Pages called, appropriately enough, “exclude”.

    exclude
(string) Comma separated list of Page numeric IDs to be excluded from the list (example: ‘exclude=10, 20, 30’). There is no default value. See the Exclude Pages from List Example.
