Creating a new site based on another does not create post relationships?

I’m just wondering if this is intended or a bug, but when I try to create a new site based off another existing site, the posts does not seem to get a relationship between them. It would be awesome to have this as a feature. We have a pretty large site that needs translation, and going through each post and creating relationships is really time consuming.
