• I would like to send a “Welcome Email” to those who subscribe to the newsletter, generating a different discount code for each user.
I followed the instructions on the page: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/399-adding-a-discount-coupon-to-emails
I’m using the free version of mailpoet3.
The email sent always contains XXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXX and the WordPress discount code is not generated.
What can I investigate to understand if there is a configuration error or a bug in the plugin?
    Thanks.

    Hi @develspecial,

The email sent always contains XXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXX and the WordPress discount code is not generated.

Can you please let me know if you have tested this yourself and receive an email without any code?

Please note that it’s expected you’ll see XXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXX when checking the email editor, as a unique coupon will be generated for each new subscriber.

Also, are you using the latest version of MailPoet and WooCommerce plugins?

Yes, I tested the entire procedure, registering new users with different emails and waiting for WordPress to send the automatic email. The discount code arrives as XXXX-XXXX…
I have the latest version of WordPress and MailPoet.

    Hello again @develspecial

Can you kindly confirm if you’re using the latest version of WooCommerce as well?

Can you kindly head over to your WPAdmin > Marketing > Coupons and see if the coupons are been generated?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hello,
    I’m using:
    WordPress 6.3.2
    Woocommerce 8.2.1
    Mailpoet (free) 4.32.0

I’ve just tried again the entire registration process and the welcome email sent to the new subscriber contains always the code XXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXX and there is no new discount code in Marketing \ Coupons.
Let me know If you have any suggestions that I can try.
    Thanks.

    Hello again @develspecial,

Thank you for getting back to us and letting us know.

Can you confirm if you can see the coupon you created in the Marketing > Coupons page?

Can you create a coupon directly on the Marketing > Coupons page, set the coupon usage limits etc and then select the coupon directly in your newsletter by selecting the all coupons tab and choosing your coupon from there? Doing that should make a coupon code display.

    I hope this helps.

The coupons are visible if created from Marketing > Coupons, but Mailpoet is unable to create any coupons.

I confirm that it is possible to select a coupon created directly and send it in the newsletter. This way it works, but obviously, all recipients receive the same coupon.

We did a test on a new installation, with only WordPress, WooCommerce, and Mailpoet, and in this way everything works correctly, Mailpoet generates the coupons (in the description we read: Auto Generated coupon by MailPoet for email: ).

So it is a problem with our installation, an incompatibility with some plugin, or a problem with the updates, considering that we have updated to the latest version over time.

If you can think of something we can try to understand what the problem is, we will attempt to put it into practice.

    Hi @develspecial,

I’m trying to understand how you are automatically generating the coupons.

Do you mean you can select existing coupons from MailPoet > Emails > Content (Coupon) but the create coupon option to add a coupon directly from this page is not working?

ailpoet generates the coupons (in the description we read: Auto Generated coupon by MailPoet for email:)

Please include a link to the document/article you are looking at.

    Thanks!

This has started to happen to my site as well. The emails get sent, but with the coupon field as all xxx, and no coupon is generated in woocommerce.

    Hey @kevinenax-

Thanks for chiming in. Have you been able to test with just WooCommerce and MailPoet active, along with a default theme? Is the problem resolved at that point?

If the problem persists, please do create a new thread so that this doesn’t get lost in this chain.
