Hi all, I have an active working site, but I would like to create a mirror of it in another domain so that I can try things without wrecking the main site. I have created the domain and moved the site and database into the alternate server, but all of the links point to the original main site. Is there a way to edit the mirror site so the links all point to relative target rather than an absolute one? I hope I am making myself clear. Thanks for the help.

I’ve been reading other threads and discovered how to edit the database in the wp-options table siteurl and home options and I have partial success, but now I find that the links in a page or post stay the same way they were written. Other than editing them by hand is there a more efficient way? Thanks.

OK, I think I know the answer to my last question.

On to the next. Now, pages that require database access are not finding it. Even though I have given the database a new name (domain_DBName) username and password, they are not appearing in the users (wp_jqkw1p_users) table. I tried to insert a new user in that table but it doesn’t seem to work. For one thing it is not encrypting the new password. I am able to logon using MyPHPAdmin but the page that uses the database cannot find it. I have tried to edit the DB access information but my new user can’t seem to get in. Anybody got an idea?
